DESCRIPTION:Unieke pop-up stage play “The Legacy of Colonization” werpt licht op de erfenis van kolonialisme \nRotterdam – Op Donderdag 30 november 2023 presenteert Melanin Kris de transformerende pop-up stage play “The Legacy of Colonization” in Third Place Rotterdam. Deze unieke voorstelling verkent de diepe en blijvende impact van kolonialisme door middel van spoken word\, storytelling\, publieksparticipatie\, sound en visuals. \nEen reis door de tijd “The Legacy of Colonization” neemt het publiek mee op een reis door de geschiedenis\, van de vroege dagen van kolonialisme tot de hedendaagse gevolgen ervan in onze samenleving. Door persoonlijke verhalen\, interactie en reflectie worden bezoekers uitgedaagd om na te denken over het koloniale verleden en de invloed ervan op de huidige generaties. \n“The Legacy of…” is niet alleen een artistieke uiting\, maar ook een diepgaand onderzoek naar de complexe relaties tussen het koloniale verleden en de hedendaagse identiteit. Het is een reis door tijd en ruimte\, die de kijker meeneemt van de haven van Rotterdam naar de kusten van Ghana\, en weer terug\, om de invloed van het verleden op het heden te verkennen. \nOver Melanin Kris Melanin Kris is een getalenteerde spoken word artiest en verhalenverteller wiens werk zich richt op sociale kwesties\, geschiedenis en cultuur. Met “The Legacy of colonization” hoopt hij bewustwording te creëren en een dialoog op gang te brengen over de erfenis van kolonialisme.
